Low Friction Rings and Rigging Rings

Ferrules are ideal for applications such as barber haulers, spinnaker twings or other uses that have small turning angles and little line movement. They also work great for backstay adjusters when used in a high purchase cascade configuration. Ferrules start having frictional heating and wear problems when there is significant line movement so conventional pulleys are still better for applications such as mainsheet and halyard blocks.

Tylaska’s ferrule offerings from FR3 to FR26 cover an extreme range of working loads and line sizes that no other single manufacturer provides.

Low Friction Rings are ideal for applications such as barber haulers, spinnaker twings or other uses that have small turning angles and little line movement. They also work great for backstay adjusters when used in a high purchase cascade configuration. Tylaska’s Low Friction Rings span an extreme range of working loads and line sizes that no other single manufacturer provides.
Tylaska Tree Rigging Rings were developed for industrial applications requiring maximum durability and a wide bend radius.

Low Friction Rings

Lighter and smaller than a conventional pulley block, low friction rings have become a popular alternative for many applications where traditional blocks once ruled. In addition to being light and less expensive than convectional blocks, low friction rings are also less prone to failure because there are no pulleys to crack or bearings to foul.

Instead of rolling on a pulley sheave, the active line slides on the inside smooth surface of the ring. Another line is spliced around the ring as an anchor.

Features

  • Low Profile and Lightweight
  • High sidewall for secure line
  • 6061 Aerospace Aluminum
  • Hardcoat anodized for maximum coating durability

Tree Rigging Rings

Designed for use in tree removal, these oversized low friction rings are hardcoat anodized for industrial duty. An extra-wide lip provides an improved bend radius for running lines. Precision CNC machined and tumble finished for the ideal low friction surface.

*MBS rated as minimum deformation load, or the load at which permanent deformation of the ring begins.

WARNING: Inspect low-friction coating, splices, and line condition before each use. Use professional, qualified splicing to tightly secure low friction rings. Keep rigging and hardware clean and free of abrasive particles. Always follow loading, safety factor, and temperature ratings recommended by line manufacturer. Always monitor heat buildup at the low friction surface and its affects on temperature sensitive rigging lines. Elongation of ring occurs beyond the MBS rating. Do not use rings that are deformed or missing low friction coating.
